Deep Relaxation

Deep relaxation and Hypnotherapy have been used for many years to help people conquer many fears, bad habits and improve many ailments physical and mental. These techniques are used because the success rate can be quite substantial.

With a deep relaxation session you will relax further than a general relaxation class. The mind and body will completely relax to a point where the subconscious mind will begin to be more in control than the conscious mind. The subconscious mind is more powerful than the conscious mind and if we can use this to our ability it can be a very rewarding tool to give strength and power to help ourselves to maintain a better quality of life.

To understand deep relaxation, you must know about your conscious mind and your subconscious mind and how they work. Your conscious mind does the thinking of which you are aware, your subconscious mind the thinking of which you are unaware. The subconscious mind can handle routine tasks that you have learned: for example, you can walk and at the same time ponder a problem. You ponder the problem with your conscious mind, while your subconscious mind directs your walking.

Your subconscious mind is also a vast warehouse in which are stored every thought and every impression, conscious or unconscious, that you have ever had. Introduce the right combination of circumstances, and any of these thoughts and impressions can be brought to light. On Tuesday, let’s say, you couldn’t think of someone’s name. On Wednesday, the name came to you in a flash. That name was as much in your mind on Tuesday as it was on Wednesday. But it was in your subconscious mind, and on the Wednesday there occurred some special set of circumstances to bring it from your subconscious mind.

When your conscious mind is active (in other words when you are fully awake) it acts as a censor through which all thoughts must pass in order to reach your subconscious mind. Once suggestions reach your subconscious mind, they are accepted without question.

As the conscious mind begins to relax and you can feel yourself slowly drifting to a relaxed and comfortable state this is the time when the subconscious mind is at its best. While you are in this state the information that is given to you will be taken in by the subconscious mind. It can help you to achieve and to become more confident, positive, motivated, relaxed and to have more self esteem. The more the subconscious mind hears a word or a phrase the more effective the outcome. This means that the same word or phrase will be repeated several times during this session.
